B4C粉末的气流粉碎及烧结

摘 要: 采用气流粉碎对B4C粗粉(比表面积为0·52 m2/g,中位粒度为20·4μm)进行粉碎实验,研究了气流粉碎次数对粉末性能、压坯密度和烧结密度的影响及成形压力和烧结温度对B4C烧结密度的影响.研究结果表明:当粉碎次数达到3次后,可获得中位粒度小于1μm的B4C超细粉末;经过4次气流粉碎的B4C超细粉末,其比表面积为2·53 m2/g,中位粒度为0·56μm;该粉末于2 250℃无压烧结1 h,其烧结密度为2·07 g/cm3,达到理论密度的82.5%,平均晶粒粒度为50μm.可见,气流粉碎能改善B4C的烧结性.

Jet milling and sintering of B4C powders

Abstract:A series of jet-milling experiments on B4C coarse powders with specific surface area of 0.52 m2/g and median particle size of 20.4μmwere carried out. Effects of jet-milling times on powder characteristics, green density and sintered density were studied. In addition, effects of forming stress and sintering temperature on sintered densities of B4C were also studied. The results show that powders with median particle size which is less than 1μm can be obtained when jet-milled for more than 3 times. The powders jet-milled for 4 times, with specific surface area of 2.53 m2/g and median particle size of 0.56μm, are pressurelessly sintered to a density of 2.07 g/cm3(theoretical density is 82·5%) at 2 250 ℃for 1 h with average grain size of 50μm. The results show that jet milling can improve the sinterability of B4C.
