光纤耦合器预拉时熔锥区的热分析

摘 要: 以六轴光纤耦合机为实验平台,利用热电偶和电位差计测得熔融拉锥时火焰的温度分布,并以此温度场作为温度边界条件,运用有限元方法,对预拉过程的光纤熔融拉锥区温度场进行热瞬态数值分析,得到了温度达到稳定所需的时间(约为10 s),为确定预烧时间提供依据,从而防止由于光纤预热不充分而产生脆断的现象;得到了光纤熔锥区预拉时的温度场分布以及光纤截面温度分布的不均匀性。在火焰区,纤芯的温度低,表层的温度高,温度相差达1.5℃;而在火焰边缘,表层的温度低,纤芯的温度高,温度相差约0.5℃。

Thermal analysis of fused biconical taper in the
process of optical fibre coupler pre-drawing

Abstract:The flame temperature distribution of fused biconical taper (FBT) was measured on a six-ax-es optical fiber coupler by using thermocouples and potentiometers. As the boundary condition, it is used to analyse the thermal transient analysis of pre-drawing process by the finite element method.The results show that it takes about 10 s for the temperature to get steady, which offers theoretical bases for determining the pre-drawing time and avoids the occurence brittle fractures due to insufficient  pre-heating. The result of the temperature field distribution in FBT region shows that the temperature on fibre section is honuniformly distributed. In the flame field, the temperature of the fibre core is higher than that of the surface and the difference is about 1.5℃. While in the flame brim, the temperature of the fibre core is lower than that of the fibre surface and the difference is about 0.5℃.
